Microcement flooring
A seamless floor with a natural, hand-crafted concrete look, built up in thin cement-based layers. Popular in homes and design-led spaces.
Microcement is a thin, cement-based decorative coating. It is applied by trowel in several coats and finished with a protective sealer. The result is a surface with no joints and soft tonal variation that gives a natural concrete look.
Because the trowel marks and tonal shifts are made by hand, every floor looks unique. The colour tone and level of sheen are decided together to suit the space.
Microcement or epoxy?
Microcement is cement-based and gives a more natural, matt or satin concrete look. Epoxy is resin-based; self-leveling and marble-effect epoxy create a glossier, glass-like surface. The choice depends on how the space is used, the look you want and the condition of the existing floor.
The floor before application
Because microcement is a thin coating, the floor must be sound, clean and even. We inspect the existing floor on site and plan the application once the necessary repairs and preparation are done.

Questions about microcement flooring
What is microcement and how is it different from epoxy?
Microcement is a thin, cement-based decorative coating applied by trowel in several coats and finished with a protective sealer. Epoxy is resin-based. Microcement gives a more natural, hand-crafted concrete look; which one suits you depends on how the space is used and the look you want.
Can a new coating be applied over old epoxy or painted floors?
If the existing coating is well bonded, it can be sanded, cleaned and recoated in suitable cases. Blistered, peeling or weak coatings must be removed first. The decision is made after inspecting the floor on site.
How do I maintain an epoxy floor?
Regular sweeping and wet mopping with a neutral cleaner is enough for most spaces. Avoid abrasive and harsh chemical cleaners, and clean up oil and chemical spills promptly.
